How long does municipalities retain "Assessment Roll Books"? FYI, M PAC only kept for 4 years inclusive of the calender year. Being originators, is it not obligated to retain the same for long time, If so, tiny (lower tier) municipalities would able to save $$$$$'s on storage space. Is it not a "vital" record for MPAC, if "yes", is it not prudent for the originators to "digitized old to current assessment roll books". In the event of any request regard to "Assessment Rolls"from any member can be directed to MPAC, would save lot of our time and encourage effective customer service as well.
"Assessment Roll Books"
In our township, Assessment Roll Books are permanently archived. Considering modern technology, MPAC could have all of the assessments on cloud storage or CDs. The less paperwork I have to worry about the better! The office is in a flood plain!
